Grievance List

I read this today in the Daily Walk Bible, and of course, it’s really resonating with me:

On a 3×5 card, make a list of any grievances you are carrying against others that, from your perspective, are unsettled.  Now take your list of “unrighted wrongs,” commit each to the Lord in prayer, and tear up the list.   Practice showing mercy; leave justice to God.

Since writing my grievances on my blog would defeat the purpose of this exercise, here are 3 things I’d like to have more of that are related to the current situations that have caused me anxiety and acute depression.

  1. I want to love more like Jesus, and not be so sensitive and easily hurt.
  2. I want to forgive more like Jesus, and truly understand that suffering is a part of life.
  3. I want to walk away from the situations I cannot change with an accepting, gracious heart.

Okay, God… it’s all yours.  I’ve had enough sadness to last a lifetime, and I’m only 24 and have lived a pretty awesome life.  Doesn’t make much sense does it?

Thank you Jesus for still wanting to be my friend.
